Stake NEAR From Your Mobile Wallet

NEAR Protocol uses Proof of Stake. Token holders can delegate NEAR to validators that participate in securing the network and receive staking rewards in return.

NEAR Mobile provides an interface for users to manage staking directly from their self-custodial wallet.

Staking rewards and APYs change over time with network conditions and validator performance, and they are not guaranteed. Unstaking is not instant either: NEAR Protocol applies a waiting period of a few epochs before unstaked NEAR can be withdrawn.

   Download NEAR Mobile

   Install NEAR Mobile on iOS from the App Store or on Android from Google Play.

   Create or import your NEAR account

   Create a self-custodial account using Google, Apple ID, email or a mnemonic phrase, or import an existing compatible account.

   Add NEAR

   Receive or transfer NEAR into the wallet.

   Open Staking

   Navigate to the staking section and review the available staking options.

   Choose and confirm

   Choose the staking option you want, review the current terms and APY, and confirm the transaction.

   Track your position

   Monitor your staking position and rewards from NEAR Mobile.

Staking fees depend on your NEAR Mobile membership: the standard staking fee on Basic is 5%, and Premium members pay 0% — compare memberships.

NEAR Mobile also supports NPRO staking: you stake NEAR with the NEAR Mobile validator (npro.poolv1.near) and receive the staking rewards in NPRO — the utility token of NEAR Mobile — instead of NEAR.

• Your staked NEAR stays yours — only the staking rewards are received in NPRO.
• Rewards are distributed every epoch (roughly three times a day) and can be claimed in the wallet.
• Rewards scale with your share of the total NEAR staked with the validator.
• The validator's NEAR staking rewards are used to buy NPRO from the liquidity pool.

NEAR Mobile is a self-custodial wallet. Users maintain control of their wallet account while using the staking functionality.

That is different from staking through a centralized exchange, where you deposit NEAR into an account the exchange controls and it stakes on your behalf. With NEAR Mobile, your NEAR is delegated from your own account to a validator's staking pool on-chain, and only you can unstake and withdraw it. NEAR Mobile never takes custody of your NEAR.
